Born in Munich (Germany) Christian started playing piano at the age of fourteen. After taking private lessons he played his first gigs as a keyboard player with a popgroup playing original music.
In 1989 he attended the Conservatory of Arnhem (The Netherlands), studying Jazz piano.

After his graduation in 1994 he moved back to Munich. During 1995-2005 he played with several groups concerts in Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, The Czech Rep. and Turkey. As a sideman he recorded several cd‘s and worked as a pianist and arranger in TV-, Movie-, and Theater productions.

In 2003 he recorded his first Solo piano album „Heaven Knows“ with his own compositions, followed by his second Album „ADLIBS“ (Christian Doepke Trio feat. Rick Margitza). In 2006 he moved to Amsterdam for his love and is ever since active in the jazz scene.

Christian worked with singers and players such as: Rhiannon, Joey Blake, David Worm, Sheila Jordan, Jenny Evans, Rick Margitza, Rick Keller, Johannes Enders, Claudio Roditti, Horacio Hernandez, William Galison, Dusko Goikovich, Guido May, John Engels, Henning Sieverts, Christian Diener, Thaisa Olivia, Deborah J.
