Nashville-based Lips Speak Louder pairs hooky pop melodies with blistering guitar and bombastic drums to create an undeniable rock sound with a grunge edge straight from the duo’s 90’s and early 2000’s influences.

It didn’t take long for Rachel Brandsness and Angela Lese - the ultra-talented pairing behind Lips Speak Louder - to realize they had a strong musical connection. In fact, it was within about a year of meeting and working on several endeavors together that the music industry veterans decided to join forces and create the kind of formidable rock duo they had each long envisioned. Tapping into a deep and diverse experiential pool and drawing from a wide swath of influences - from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Queens of the Stone Age, to Garbage, Bully, and The Killers - Brandsness and Lese embarked on their new project in 2023 asking themselves one key question: just how big of a sonic profile could they create with only two people? The answer, as it turns out, is a pretty powerful one.
