First formed in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, California in 1971 as the "Buddytones". Known for their bizarre stage antics, they quickly developed a cult following as their performances became more outrageous.
Their most notable achievement was causing the audience to stampede at a show at the Fox Theater when the group threw styrofoam penes into the crowd during "The Penis Song". The band continued in various forms until 1975.
The CD is made up from live recordings from 1972--a YMCA dance and a benefit at a High School. Several Mouth Parts has recently reunited, and contains members from
each incarnation of the band. The current personnel:
