Martin Kräussl was born 29th July 1985 into a Czech family with Belgian-German roots. He attended part-time music schools where he learnt to play various instruments. Anyway Martin naturally turned to professional dancing in his juvenescence. Martin with his Latin-American dance group scored 4th position in the Czech Championship of Dance Formations aged only 18.

Martin permanently moved to Prague in the year 2004, where he went in quest for a new inspiration – and he gradually enriched his dancing with singing and song writing ambitions. Being heavily influenced by the modern up-beat of R´n´B and the classical jazz school Martin started traditional Sunday performing with Tommy Smith, a very talented English jazz pianist, in an American bar called RedRoom in the centre of Prague.

Next small step happened in the summer of 2008 when Martin started a co-operation with Nikol Davídková in their project “The Feedback”. They toured Prague´s major discotheques and clubs, later also other cities in the Czech Republic. Young choreographer and director Kristýna Černá chose him later that year for the main character in her jazzy musical play “The Songs of George Gershwin” which is currently being prepared for the forthcoming stage premiere.

Year 2009 means a step into the solo singing career when his songs are acknowledged by the Czech Organization for Royalties (OSA). Martin writes lyrics for various singers and prepares the material for his soon to be released album “THE WAY I PICTURE MYSELF”. This album has already been limitedly released for his fans. Martin has 20 originals electro/R´n´B songs and although this genre leads the world pop charts, it is not reflected on the present Czech music scene. He is one of a very few Czech artists who can sing in English and French without any Czech accent.

If you are into jazz / swing / blues or latin music, another opportunity to see Martin is to go to a concert of “Monday Session” excellent live band where Martin sings.
