Born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee, Brinley Addington’s passion for Country music began well before the small town singer can even remember. At age three, Brinley began climbing on top of his parent’s coffee table pretending he was performing on the Grand Ole Opry. Brinley was influenced early on by the hymns he heard on Sunday morning and the traditional country voices of Randy Travis, Vince Gill, and Alan Jackson.

As time went by, Brinley gained inspiration from modern country artists like Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw as well as his parents’ love of bluegrass music. In the fourth grade, a reluctant Brinley was encouraged to enter the school talent show where he performed in front of a crowd for the very first time. At age 12, Brinley began singing at Church where he realized, what he feels to be, God’s plan for his life: making music.

One of Brinley’s greatest musical influences came in the form of Josh Turner’s “Your Man” album. Turner’s blend of soulful, traditional country music, bluegrass, and rural subject matter became a key piece in the blueprint for what Brinley wanted to accomplish with his music.

Since 2007, Brinley has had the honor of opening shows for several major artists such as Chris Young, Josh Turner, The Band Perry, Justin Moore, Eli Young Band, Florida-Georgia Line, Thompson Square, Jerrod Niemann, Gavin DeGraw, Marty Stuart, John Michael Montgomery, as well as Texas favorites Jack Ingram, Roger Creager, and the Casey Donahew Band, and has served as headliner at numerous fairs, festivals, and college events in the southeast.

Brinley’s first full-length album Homegrown debuted in May of 2011 and is garnering outstanding reviews from peers and music industry professionals alike. Homegrown produced two music videos (“Hang on a Farm,” “As Long As You Love Me”) that have already gained over 100,000 views. Addington is a signed writer at Razor & Tie Music Publishing’s Nashville division and has recently signed a development deal with Artist Concepts.

When asked about his recent accomplishments, Addington says, “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve been blessed with. So many cool things are happening, it’s just unreal. I really just want to write and record good, relatable, country music that honors tradition and speaks to my generation. So far, I’m trying my best to do that and I’m having a blast.” Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
