HARM LESS is the proud work of Chicago, Illinois-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Bryan Kingsley. Forging his compositions within the framework of post-metal, and drawing inspiration from a diverse palette of influences including djent, melodic hardcore, shoegaze, and pop, Kingsley is known for creating lush, expansive soundscapes that draw the listener in and hold their attention. Not afraid to wear his influences on his sleeve, he is often lavished with comparisons to his contemporaries, including Cloakroom, Cloudkicker, ISIS, and Jesu.

Kingsley sharpened his skills recording and performing in bands growing up in Upstate New York and attending school in Connecticut, before finally completing his education and settling down in Chicago. In 2014, he began writing and recording what would eventually become his solo debut, Standing, Still. It was not without difficulty, however.

The entire project was all but shelved after the untimely death of his father in early 2015. Nonetheless, he persevered and self-released the album later that year, in his father's memory. Standing, Still received wide acclaim, including a nod from Ben Sharp of Cloudkicker, who described it as "Heavy melody couched in a light-heartedness that carries a bittersweet feel throughout."

Riding the album's wave of warm reception, Kingsley began to demo new material at home. In the summer of 2017, he entered the studio to record his sophomore effort.
