Maggie Lyrics

She smiles like the stars and her hair is raven
she's a beautiful angel sent from heaven
she shines like a light she fractures the night
and this barroom's alright

maggie holds her mystery deep inside her heart
she'll keep the secret memories and dance in the dark

you can tell her your longings she will love it
if you ask of the past she won't speak of it
she never will show and you never will know of the child long ago

maggie holds her mystery deep inside her heart
she'll keep the secret memories and dance in the dark

she can trace down her soul in the footprints of trouble
when she drank sorrow right out of the bottle
through the smoke and the years come some old souvenirs
just a little girl's tears

Julie Miller (born 3 January 1956 in Waxahachie, Texas) is a country songwriter, singer, and recording artist currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. Julie Miller has been married to Buddy Miller for 20 years. They sing and play on each other's solo projects and have recorded a duets album on HighTone Records.

Her most popular song is All My Tears, which also featured parts by Emmylou Harris and jazz vocalist Jimmy Scott, was written after the death of Mark Heard.

Miller's musical career initially took off after singer Sam Phillips discovered a demo tape by the artist and turned it over to friends at Myrrh Records. Miller was signed to a contract and recorded her first solo album, Meet Julie Miller for the label.

After the 1998 Omagh bombing in Northern Ireland, local singer Juliet Turner performed a version of Broken Things at a memorial service for the victims of the bombing.

Buddy & Julie Miller teamed up with Victoria Williams, Mark Olson, and Jim Lauderdale for a European tour billed as "The Rolling Creek Dippers" in the 90's. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
