Combining the heavy influence of bands such as The Used, Thrice, Karnivool and Silverstein with new-school production and modern pop sensibilities, Charlie on Trial set out to create a sonic melting pot reminiscent of popular Aussie and American rock and post-hardcore.

Reuniting in 2020 after a twelve year hiatus, the band has been nothing if not prolific - releasing three EPs consisting of a mixture of their original set from the early 2000s, brand new material and re-imagined cover songs.

Summer 22/23 has seen the release of singles Deranged and Make Do and Mend - two heavy hitters that boldly state the new sonic direction the band has taken. Historically a trio and more recently a quartet, 2023 has seen the band expand their line up once again with the Ben Ortmann taking over drumming duties. Several singles are slated for release in 2023 as well as a consistent live appearances.
