Sunriser formed in 2002 and consists of lead singer Darryl Webster, Cameron Pyziak on the drums and Dave Engle on keyboards, all three of whom are originally from Toronto, Canada. Declan Loughlin plays bass and is the product of Manorhamilton, Ireland. Saam Hashemi of London England joined the band as principal producer and guitarist in 2008.

In May 2003 the band entered Chemical Sound (Sloan, Blue Rodeo) to record their debut EP "All My Big Plans End in Miserable Failure". The seven-song recording deals with a wide range of topics and sounds from soft heartache to angry rock to satirical folk. So far it has received excellent reviews and is only a small taste of what a full length LP will soon offer.

In their first 2 years together SUNRiSER have been featured as one of Sleeman's Label Free best unsigned bands, played consecutive showcases at North By North East 2003-2005 and charted in the top 5 on Canadian Campus Radio. The band have also licensed songs to the television show "Queer as Folk" and the feature film "Ice Men". The band ended 2004 with a bang receiving a generous amount of radio play from edge 102.1 in Toronto and learned they will be featured in the CBC's new Grey Cup DVD. In May of 2005 the band received their second PromoFact grant to create a new EPK/DVD with producer Cullen Fairfield. From May 2005 to September 2005 the band toured Canada from St. John's to Vancouver as part of the Budweiser True Music Tour.

SUNRiSER's debut LP - "Is This a Good Life?" (2009) is a culmination of the group's hard work. With familiar tracks "The Joke You've Become" and "In the City", SUNRiSER manages to keep their familiar sound. But with new tracks "Gold" and "Save the World", the indie group from Toronto is breathing new life into an already stellar sound. Hidden gem, "Watch Me Try" is a meaningful and heartfelt track.

Ultimately the boys plan to purchase a small European Soccer Club and cultivate it, instilling values such as teamwork, fitness and dedication. Their dream is to watch this relative team of unknowns lift the 2014 Champions League Trophy. The team's fight song will be "You Are My Sunshine".
