Biography
Led by composer Jordan Rush, the roots of Abolish the Echelon were planted when in August 2007 he was introduced by common friends to Alex Wheeler, who would over time become a best friend and fellow guitarist. The two started with interests in metalcore bands such as All That Remains, Trivium and As I Lay Dying. Over the course of that following year their style preference would change, after a YouTube fan suggested a cover of a song by Protest the Hero. Alex and Jordan were amazed by their technicality and became committed to writing and playing music that was more creative and technical. Nowadays, the guitarists of Abolish the Echelon play 7 string guitars, and are enjoying composing music that is a blend of modern, rhythmic based djent-style riffs, and previous influences. Joining the band in 2013 are Austin Ryan on drums and Ryan Obermeit on bass, completing the instrumental lineup. The band eagerly looks forward to getting on a tour and the release of the long awaited debut album "Collusion" for Summer 2013. Read more on Last.fm.
