Inflatable Boy Clams was an all-female art-punk band from San Francisco, active in the early 1980s. The group included Carol Detweiler, JoJo Planteen, Judy Gittelsohn, and Geneviève Boutet de Monvel. Detweiler and Gittelsohn had previously been members of the band Pink Section.

Inflatable Boy Clams released a self-titled 2x7" EP in 1981 on Subterranean Records, featuring tracks such as “Skeletons,” “Snoteleks,” “I’m Sorry,” “Boystown,” and “Marin.” Their music combined punk, new wave, and performance art, with shared vocal duties and rotating instrumentation. Their live shows often incorporated elements of performance art rather than traditional rock concerts.

The band faded from view after their initial release, but their music has seen renewed interest, including a reissue of their EP in 2015. Inflatable Boy Clams remains a notable example of the experimental and DIY spirit of the early 1980s San Francisco music scene.
