Matter Lyrics

And so life continues
As matter does not disappear
And you are not the issue
In this the universal sphere

So turn off the light
Let night embrace and take you in
Sleep within it's wisdom

And dreams are not lost
They merely fall beneath the ashes
Of what is left to the soul
From where it starts to where it catches

And you must remember me
A plea from one who must be kept like
Some vacant thought
We fear to find, we can't regret

And you have become
The instant you believe you have
The memories, our aftermath

Dreams are not lost
They merely fall beneath the ashes
Of what is left to the soul
From where it starts to where it catches
And this is the time until it passes

You sleep deeper than I do
I keep thinking about you
Eyes tired and the night is impatient

It takes me under and I change the station
It takes me under and I change the station
It takes me under and I change the station
Though they may fade into the everyday

Dreams, dreams are not lost
They merely fall beneath the ashes
Of what is left to the soul
From where it starts to where it catches
And this is the time until it passes

Turn off the light
Let night embrace and take you in
Sleep within it's wisdom

And dreams are not lost
They merely fall beneath the ashes
Of what is left to the soul
From where it starts to where it catches
And this is the time until it passes, passes, passes
And this is the time until it passes, passes, passes

Josh Joplin Group was a Georgia-based pop music band led by singer-songwriter Josh Joplin. Joplin, a self-proclaimed "dork" who nonetheless dropped out of school in tenth grade to become a folk singer like his hero Phil Ochs, brought the group its trademark combination of introspective lyrics, folk-rock melodies, and lead vocals that, to many, sound identical to those of R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe (to the point that one Joplin song, "Happy at Last," begins, "I sound like Michael Stipe and I dream like Carl Jung").
