Prince Osito (A.K.A. Oji 1) was born and raised in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He settled in Barcelona, Spain, in 1998 where he started performing on the reggae scene.
Prince Osito defines his style as African, fresh and versatile. He blends afrobeats, dancehall, and drum & bass influences into his personal version of reggae.
His debut album "Diobu Boy" was released in 2007 and his sophomore album "Play Me!" in 2012. He has collaborated with artists from different musical genres, as Gentleman, Daddy Rings, EedrisAbdulkareem, Afu-Ra, Selebobo, Macaco, Femi Kuti, Duncan mighty & Cupastone.
Prince Osito performs every year at the Felabration Festival in Lagos, Nigeria, in his homeland. Osito has toured Europe and West Africa on many occasions.
He received a double-platinum award for his collaboration with the Swedish DJs Bacall & Malo the remix "Africa", which was streamed more than 8 million times on Spotify.
His last album “Beautiful Nonsense” was released in March 2020 - it is a clear shift to afrobeats, entirely produced by talented Nigerian producers (Kel-P, Dj Coublon, Klebb, Selebobo, Ozedikus, prod. Spellz etc.) who have worked with the likes of Davido, Burna Boy or Tiwa Savage.
