Melpomene Lyrics

Something tells me that I'm left without a chance
in my suspicious attempts to get her close
enough to close my lips around her smile
now I can't close my eyes when she's around
and she's around
passing like the wind that shapes the clouds
she is around, she is around

i don't know how but suddenly it has been a while
and we're been walking in through that same front door
undressing like there were no parts to hide
and calling each other names we never had
you never heard
and then an unexpected turn
and we hit the kerb
a stupid term, a fatal word

Flutter girl
killing me with her sunshine
sunshine
she's so unaware
that she's my melpomene

you broke the code
just like i'm sure you always do
without intentions but I know
that's how I broke away from you
now that the clouds are obsolete
I hope you landed on your feet
without those evil demons
keeping you reminding of...

the war they pulled us through
as fragile hearts ran short of glue
as we're both running out of time
and seek to drown the fact in wine
it should be honest and naive
like we should give, we should receive
I must be jaded
fading out of fuction into solitude

Flutter girl
killing me with her sunshine
sunshine
she's so unaware
that she's my melpomene

Flutter girl
killing me with her sunshine
sunshine
she's so unaware
that she's my melpomene

Kashmir are a Danish rock band formed 1991 in Frederiksberg, Denmark. Originally called Nirvana, the band quickly changed its name to Kashmir due to the Seattle based grungeband of the same name, breaking through at the time. The name derived from the Led Zeppelin song Kashmir, since this was the only song all band members could agree upon, since their various musical tastes were diverse.
The band consists of the members:
Kasper Eistrup (vocals & guitar)
Mads Tunebjerg (bass)
Asger Techau (drums)
Henrik Lindstrand (keyboards & guitar).
Their earlier albums were musically in the vein of Primus and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, but with their third full length album their style changed dramatically to be influenced by Jeff Buckley and Radiohead, a style often characterised by newcomers as in the same veins as Coldplay, however Kashmir has in Kasper Eistrup, an original text writer and singer, who can hardly be summarized as anything close to Chris Martin.
To this date, the band have released seven full length albums. Their latest, E.A.R. (2013). With the release of NBP, the band yet again changed direction musically to be inspired by artists such as Sonic Youth and other noise rockers.

It should be noted that there also was a Swiss band with the same name which was active between 1979 and 1982. Consisting of keyboarder Patrice Guenat and singer Henry Dubelly, they produced two albums that range between synthesizer pop and neo-progressive genres.

Another danish band in the 70s was also called Kashmir or more correctly "Jørgen Thomsen & Kashmir", but due to Spotify (Kashmir, Jørgen Thomsen tag) they will scrobble as Kashmir, despite being a backing band at least on the 1972 record they recorded:
Jørgen Thomsen was backed by prominent musicains in "Kashmir": Nils Tuxen (Savage Rose, Flemming Hansen (bass), Ken Gudman at drums and Carl Åge Isaksen on piano.
