Founded in 2005, Shapes of Distortion, the 5 man band has experienced many highs and lows over it's nearly seven years long history. After several member changes, two unofficial demo recordings, necessary breaks and hiatuses, exploring musical directions and club gigs, it was by 2010 that the band established their unique sounds and style.
The music is dark, and chaotic, but sometimes chaos is broke to bring peace, and conformity. We try to explore the different directions in which we can take modern metal. This leads to song structures that contain heavy metal elements and non-metal fragments as well.
Our goals are to make the best we can get out of this kind of music. We never wanted to conquer the world, just to reach the widest possible range of people who are susceptible of what we do.
In the last day of December 2011, our first EP, Beneath was released, with which we tried to deliver a comprehensive sample of our musical mind. It contains all that has been mentioned before, and a lot more. The self produced, and published 5 song pack is distributed free online or can be bought in a limited quantity. Read more on Last.fm.
