Originally from the tiny eastern North Carolina town of Washington, Matthew currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Matthew's debut release, "8 Songs", was written and recorded in the winter and spring of 2005 in Woodstock and Brooklyn, NY. The CD features Matthew on vocals, guitars and keyboards, and was produced by Matthew and Craig Levy.

In New York, Matthew has appeared at Rockwood Music Hall, the Bitter End (with the NY Songwriter's Circle), Pianos, Crash Mansion, Pete's Candy Store, The Lucky Cat and other venues.

Matthew co-wrote four songs for the recent Todd Solondz film "Palindromes", which premiered at the New York, Toronto, Venice and Telluride film festivals. He continues his work writing and producing for other recording artists, most recently for #1 Billboard dance artist Kevin Aviance ("Seattle"), Shawna Stone (Angel/EMI Records) and singer Wafah Dufour.
