Hailing from South Africa, Nokken has been involved in many aspects of Electronic Dance Music over the years. He began DJing at the tender age of 12 and started promoting nights in South Africa and later, London. Nokken began producing music not long after and managed a record label Minimal Force for a couple of years, but left the company in search of a more creative environment to focus solely on his productions.
He started to release his music in 2011 with his first release on E-Minor Binary, a sub label of the renowned underground label E-Minor based in Hamburg. This year he has released on Metroline/Retrometro, Unt Records, and Wunderkammer Records with more to follow very soon.
During the time he has been in London he has played at many venues including: Turnmills, 1001,The Rhythm Factory, Public Life, The Russian Bar, The Light Bar, Brick House and many more and recently playing for the PLUX crew (E-Minor) in Hamburg.
Nokken has shared the DJ booth to many renowned DJ’s such as: Camea, Tim Xavier, Falling Cows, Pure Science, Tadeo, Jonas Wahrlich, Lump, Saytek to name a few.
Nokken’s sets are dark, deep and driving straight to the point minimal techno with elements of dub and breaks.
