Hardlucy is an American rock band originally formed in Dallas, TX in 1997. The original lineup consisted of Matt Biersmith and Jesse Grinter. The group's name, Hardlucy, is slang for a hard-left turn in reference to turning along a racetrack. The band released their first album, the self-titled Hardlucy in 1999. After completion of the album, the duo added a bassist Vince Chao and drummer Scott for their live shows in support of the album.

A tumultuous period between album releases saw numerous changes within the band. Scott left the band, and was replaced by Sam Smith who was with the band until the they went on hiatus at the end of the year. In early 2001, Jesse Grinter left the band to pursue other interests.

Looking to complete the album which the band had already started working on, Matt and Vince recruited new drummer Jason Sweatt to take over drumming duties for the follow-up album , It's One Word, which was released in 2003.

The band's latest album, Misanthropy has just been released on CD and digitally on the iTunes store. The band's current lineup consists of Matt Biersmith (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, drums, keyboard) and Vince Chao (bass, guitars, backing vocals).
