I've been involved in the international music scene over the last 20 years. As a senior editor for the top guitar-oriented music magazines GUITAR WORLD, GUITAR FOR THE PRACTICING MUSICIAN, GUITAR EXTRA, GUITAR LEGENDS, and GUITAR WORLD ACOUSTIC, among others, I've contributed as a music transcriber, instructional columnist and journalist.

I've authored over 200 books of guitar transcriptions as well as a series of guitar-related instructional books and videos/DVDs, all of which are distributed worldwide, for the leading music publishers Hal Leonard Corp., Warner Brothers Publishing and Cherry Lane Music.

Over the last 3-4 years, I’ve sold well over 500,000 instructional DVDs, and continue to produce new DVD products for Guitar World and Truefire. There are many additional products on the market available from other companies such as Hal Leonard and Alfred Music Publishing.

I am also featured nationally on Comcast Music On Demand every day, seven days a week, and have been for the last three years. All of the many different products I’ve created for GW are featured, including excerpts from my Axis: Bold as Love and Electric Ladyland instructional DVDs.

Also, I’ve been touring for the last five years with Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers; I play slide guitar in his band. Additionally, I appear on his new “Dickey Betts & Great Southern: 30 Years Of Southern Rock" 2 Disc DVD (http://www.amazon.com/Rockpalast-30-Years-Southern-Dickey-Betts/dp/B001S21N1Y) and his double live CD, “The Official Bootleg: (2006 North American Tour” (http://dickeybetts.merchnow.com/products/104742).

I also regularly participate in the Jimi Hendrix Tribute Tours of the last nine years; I am featured on the live Experience Hendrix DVD available from jimihendrix.com (http://www.experiencehendrixtour.com/dvd.php) appearing with Paul Rodgers, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, Mick Taylor, Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cox, Robert Randolph and others. I’ve also performed and recorded many times with Double Trouble, Stevie Ray Vaughan’s rhythm section of Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton. They appear with me on a cut from my upcoming studio album.

I perform regularly in the tri-state area with my own band, Andy Aledort & the Groove Kings, and we are looking to expand our touring parameters. We released a studio album, “Put A Sock In It,” a few years ago, and I have just released a new live album, “Live at North Star 2009.” I also have two albums worth of studio material that I plan to release within the year.
