The Supersónicos start as a band in the early '90s in Montevideo, Uruguay; after the release of Mundo Pistola their punk sound mutates into retro instro surf and updated new wave. That changes lead to a thematically linked CD trilogy: Irrupción en el Cosmos, Hola Estática and Telekinesis. While the first one worries about a covert alien invasion, Hola Estática is centered about domestic robots slavery, and their latest full CD, Telekinesis, is all about the developing of psi-powers to fight ETs and injustice.

The band's international reach includes opening shows withr Luna, Phantom Surfers, Breeders, founding appearances on the Buenos Aires Stomp Festival, and Ciclo Molotov (Buenos Aires), Chilean and Argentinean tours, and several appearances on international comps (Spain, USA, Argentina, Mexico). Telekinesis deserved 5/5 stars on Phil Dirt specialized instro rock review site (www.reverbcentral.com).

The band is Leo Sónico on vox and guitar, Pol Sónico on drums, Bob Sónico on lead guitar and occasional keyboards and Joe Sónico on bass and effects. Live shows include old films projections, narrative coherence and a little stunting. The official website is www.supersonicos.net.uy , e-mail: super@montevideo.com.uy.
