Red Electric are a band from the Mediterranean island of Malta. Recognised as one of 'Malta's biggest bands', they officially formed over 10 years ago, but it all really began a long time before, when budding 13 year old guitarist Peter Borg met the slightly older, and therefore much cooler, bass player Ivan Borg - the latter doing what any self-respecting, God-fearing musician in Malta does - playing in church.

And so, fast forward over a decade, hundreds of gigs and doing whatever it took to keep it moving - ‘We just learned to play anywhere and to anyone’, says Aleandro - Red Electric are not only still going, but in fact, just hitting their stride. Like so many bands, the Red Electric story is equal parts disappointment and determination, with years of near misses, being widely ignored by the world outside Malta, and hitting the glass ceiling of their local scene. ‘We always had huge ambitions to break out of Malta,'' says Joe. ''We've absorbed so much culture from the UK and the US particularly, and have always felt that our music and songs have potential to be liked by so many more people’.
