Bala Desejo names the event-meeting of Rio de Janeiro musicians Dora Morelenbaum, Julia Mestre, Lucas Nunes and Zé Ibarra. Friends since school days, the four musicians began to draw attention after some participation in the lives on Instagram of singer Teresa Cristina. This movement culminated in the release of the group's debut album, entitled "Sim Sim Sim", released by Coala Records label. In 2020, each of the musicians followed a different path in their respective musical careers: Dora was part of the Zanzibar vocal group, Julia was composing songs for her solo work, while Zé and Lucas were immersed in the productions of the second album of their band, Dônica, which they integrate together with Tom Veloso, André Almeida and Rodrigo Parcias. Lucas also produced Caetano Veloso's album Meu Coco, released in 2021. Each member lived their own solitude and creative process in the period of isolation. When they decided to live together, the residence became synonymous with immersion, resulting in a sound that is nostalgic in the imagination of the Brazilian public, but avant-garde in its proposal. The realization of Bala Desejo as a group came from the invitation of Coala Festival for the band to integrate the line-up of the 2021 edition, later postponed due to the pandemic. With the impossibility of the event, the idea of recording an album came up. Released in two parts (sides A and B), in a reverence for the vinyl tradition, "Sim Sim Sim" has artistic direction and musical production by Bala Desejo, co-produced with Ana Frango Elétrico and supervision by Marcus Preto, producer and artistic director responsible for works with Gal Costa. The “Bala's kombi” was born on trips between Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais and now announces to the world the desire for “re-carnival”. Read more on Last.fm.
