1. Carlos Sandoval Mendoza (b. 1956, Mexico City) is a Mexican freelance composer, musician and sound artist living in Berlin, Germany. He became also a German citizen in 2010. Sandoval has worked in computer-assisted composition and performance for about two decades. His actual performance-setup is based on sensors and randomized "sound-banks" improvisation. He is now linking social networking logics with music and also developing what he calls "post-music". He founded The Tilt Group in 2005, focused on technology, nature and gestures. He founded also the Interaktion Festival in Berlin (2006), now in its second edition. His late pieces may be described as a labyrinth of performers and composer’s cognitive dissonances, dislocated traditions, hidden technologies, deconstructed musical rolls and ironic stereotyping, sometimes involving "non-professional musicians", in "non-professional" situations. Right after his musical studies in Mexico City, Sandoval was identified as one of the most unusual, independent characters of his generation. Sandoval has been teaching composition and improvisation at UdK in Berlin.

2. One of the giants of Champenorteña music, Carlos Sandoval was a musical genius who was reportedly composing songs by the times he was age nine. (He composed the hit song "Sorbiendo cuchuco" when he was only eleven years old.) Revered equally for his singing style and for the compositions he fed into the Carranga musical lexicon, Sandoval was also a renegade bolero who shifted bolero's focus from the metaphorical to the physical with songs like "Chancleteo porque me gusta" and "Con la jeta empalagosa" which spoke eloquently -- and simply -- of love and heartbreak. His delivery of songs like "A robar al ley" and "a surtir vinimos" have a kind of ferocity that is only rivaled by Don Diego. Sandoval's songs helped shape the careers of artists like Don Diego (http://www.last.fm/music/Diego+Milanes), El gordo duarte, el Don Juan del Flow and others. Sandoval was known for his wild lifestyle, which is no surprise in light of the sudden fame and fortune following his first 2003 hit and the string of successes that followed to date.
