Ensor is an indie rock quartet from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Ensor is indierock in its purest form, loudQUIETloud, strong choruses, tender verses, crazy lyrics and each instrument delivering what's necessary to come to a great popsong. Pixies, Pavement, dEUS, Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins, Elastica, and a fine dose of Amsterdam idiocy.

Ensor got together a good 2 years ago. Drummer Michiel Verburgh and gitarist/vocalist Bas Jacobs played together for numerous years in Pfaff and The Ik Jan Cremers. Bas Jacobs and bassplayer Marcel de Rooij played together in We Be Naked and gitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Manue Ornon has been playing a lot and releasing several EPs and CDs solo as Fusee Doree.

There's quite a lot of experience in this band and that's why they decided to spend the first few years in a rehearsal space to get to the songs and sounds they wanted. In between they did a couple of one off shows in Amsterdam, Haarlem and a minitour in the UK (London/Norwich), before putting the songs down in Marcel de Rooij & Vincent van Warmerdam's studio De Slapende Hond.

It all resulted in the catchy and uplifting debut album, Kicks, released May 26th 2014 by Amsterdam based label/platform Off Amsterdam. The band will do a few shows after the release and will be touring in the autumn of 2014 to get the kicks as far as they can.
