The Benedictions are an Americana/rock and roll band that has been playing straight-up songs, rough-hewn and dirty, since they formed in 2009, when they all met at a Low Anthem concert in Providence. They continue their journey through the bad neighborhoods of Americana with their debut release, The Benedictions Play Devil Music, due in June of 2010. The Benedictions were nominated for Best Roots Act in the 2010 Providence Phoenix Best Music Poll, and have landed a headlining slot at the Block Island Music Festival this summer.
