The Music Revelation Ensemble was one of the earliest free-funk bands, inspired by and building upon the ideas of Ornette Coleman & Prime Time. The leader and only permanent member was guitarist James Blood Ulmer, who wrote the majority of the band's material. The bands shifting lineup included: Ronald Shannon Jackson, Grant Calvin Weston, Jamaladeen Tacuma, David Murray and Hamiett Bluiett. Read more on Last.fm.
