1. Mathilda Cabeza is a French singer and photographer from Pérignat-lès-Sarliève, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. She began her music career in 2016 as part of the Toulouse-based band After Marianne, alongside Augustin Charnet. Although she no longer performs with the group, Mathilda and Charnet continue to collaborate.
In 2019, Mathilda lent her voice to French singer Christophe for the track "Océan d'amour," featured in his project Christophe Etc. (Vol. 2). Mathilda's career gained momentum as she began posting covers of well-known songs, including Madonna's "Hung Up," Dinos' "Placebo," and Serge Gainsbourg's "Comme un boomerang" on Instagram between late 2020 and early 2021.
Her debut single, (It Could Have Been) Love, was released on May 14, 2021, as part of her first EP, Amore Sacro, which came out on October 22, 2021. That same year, Mathilda moved from Toulouse to Paris to further pursue her music career.
On September 23, 2022, she released her second EP titled Brutal. In November 2022, Mathilda appeared on two tracks, Modus Vivendi and Simyaci, from rapper Dinos' fourth album Hiver à Paris, gaining further recognition.
Mathilda’s voice has been described as captivating, with a unique mix of nonchalance and depth, which initially caught the attention of Christophe, leading to a three-year artistic collaboration. Her music blends elements of trip-hop and operatic influences, combining cinematic soundscapes with dramatic contrasts of light and shadow. Drawing inspiration from classic Italian actresses like Sophia Loren and Claudia Cardinale, Mathilda's style reflects her Mediterranean roots—Italian, Spanish, and Moroccan—which is evident in both her music and persona.

She gained early experience by writing and performing songs in Lilla Melodifestivalen, the Swedish junior version of Eurovision. In 2016, she was a stand-in artist for Belgium's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest.
On May 25, 2018, Mathilda released her single "NBLY&I" (Nothing Burns Like You and I), a pop song that explores the complexities of young love. The track is infused with a mix of pop elements and brings to mind the atmosphere of the hit Norwegian series Skam. The lyrics describe a love that, despite its challenges and emotional turmoil, remains unique and irreplaceable.
On June 21, 2019, Mathilda followed up with the single "A New Tomorrow," a song reflecting on a difficult period in her life. The release marked a personal turning point, as she described overcoming struggles and emerging stronger.

3. Mathilda is a German chanson pop band from Berlin. The band originally formed in late 2003 under the leadership of guitarist and songwriter Florian Bald, who is responsible for composing and writing all their music. Over the years, Mathilda has seen various changes in its lineup, with Bald being a consistent presence.
In the early years, the band consisted of seven members, including saxophonists Florian Waldow and Sabine Wenzl, keyboardist Peter Roth-Westdickenberg, and vocalist Anika Mauer. However, in its later phase, the band slimmed down to a smaller ensemble. The current lineup features Loretta Stern on vocals, Simon Brauer on drums and percussion, Marco Buttgereit on bass, and Stefan Hillebrand on keyboards and organ, alongside Bald on guitar.
Mathilda quickly gained recognition when they received the prestigious young songwriter award from the Hanns Seidel Foundation in 2004, awarded in collaboration with Bavarian Radio. Their debut album Supersexy Rational was released in early 2005, followed by M wie Mord in 2007.
The band’s sound is often characterized by its playful mix of whimsical and introspective lyrics, blending irony, nonsense, and melancholic poetry. Loretta Stern, who joined the group after their initial formation, brought a new dimension to their music with her charismatic and articulate vocal delivery. This evolution is particularly evident in their 2009 album Chansonpop, which is a collection of 14 tracks featuring a blend of pop melodies with traditional chanson elements.
