Round Ron Virgin

Oli Chance is the writer and composer of Cowabungler, a collection of ten songs including 'Heart Felt Sore', 'Couple More Years', 'I Love You But You Are Nuts' and 'Square Peg'.

He is the grandson of prolific yet widely unknown sci-fi, mystery and children's author John Newton-Chance, and the great-great grandson of Henry Chance-Newton, the man behind the 1887 musical theatre flop 'Frankenstein, or the Vampire's Victim'. Their efforts continue to inform and inspire his work to this day.

In 2007, Chance's band Oli 'n' Clive were awarded a modest recording contract with Trial and Error Recordings and released the single 'Excuse Me', backed with a cover of the same track by better-known indie rock band Wet Paint. A few months later, the band split up. Wet Paint continue to perform, and went on to record the critically acclaimed album 'It Rots'.

In 2009, after taking a sabbatical from the music business to work for Nintendo in Germany, he returned to Britain with a clutch of new songs. With the help of members of his old group and various other collaborators, Round Ron Virgin was born.

Round Ron Virgin's debut album Cowabungler was released on Records Records Records records in late May 2010.

Among his many honours are tour support with The Rumble Strips and The Magic Numbers, various festival appearances, sessions for John Kennedy on Xfm and airplay on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show.

His work has not been translated into any other languages, although this next logical step is currently been encouraged through his website, www.roundronvirgin.com.

He resides in a disused carpet shop in London, and is currently working on bringing his great-great grandfather's musical works back to the West End.
