There is little like Jason Turner in musical action. Like a well-seasoned, well- aged wine, Jason Turner's musical career began on “borrowed time” and has continued as he has driven as fast as he can to get out of that "Nothing Town."

Turner, 33, founded the band in 1997 in conjunction with his first self-produced C.D. "Angel on Borrowed Time," which featured such songs with depth as "This is not my home," and "Revolution." Though a mere teenager, Turner was already writing
songs that looked inside what we all feel and even ones that examined difficult subjects like the school shootings in Pearl, Miss.

Five years later, Turner and his band mates released a second C.D., again self- producing "Headboard Confessional."

As the band picked up endorsements, gigs and loved by clubs throughout the Deep South, JTB won its first honor in 2003, the Rock 939 Battle of the Bands. It was the beginning of a long stretch of honors, and more high-octane performances and higher profile shows across the southeast.

From 1997-2011, JTB played more than 2,500 shows, with Turner or the band opening for acts such as the Avett Brothers and Jake Owen before 30,000 at The Bulldog Bash festival, Violent Femmes, Robert Randolf and the family band, Blessed Union of Souls, Tim Reynolds of Dave Matthews Band, Tantric, Crossfade, Josh Kelly, Crossin Dixon, Autovaughn, Jeremy Lister, Brian Fuente, Shelly Fairchild and Ingram Hill.

With each year, the sound was perfected as the band, and Turner in particular, grew, knocking off the musical barnacles in cities like Nashville, Tenn., Pensacola, Fla., Memphis, Tenn., New Orleans, La., Austin, Tx and other towns along the way. The band, crossing successfully between out-and-out rock and roll and an alternative country sound, bounced in and out, somewhere between the roads Ryan Adams and Keith Urban have
travelled.

Turner's savvy song-writing was never better or more successful than when he started an independent label, Planet T Records, in 2010 and released the album "13 Years," which featured the breakout hits "Nothing Town" “Hotter Than The Sun” and "Too Old Now." His voice, deepened with age and almost constant year-round work, is a mellow baritone that reaches deep for wisdom but floats like a boat on a midnight sail, full-moon shining all
the while.

His hometown, Jackson, Miss., has been his launching point, and local newspaper Jackson Free Press named him the “Best Singer and Best Musician” as well as countless other awards in their annual “Best of Awards” in 2010 and 2011. 2011 found Turner winning the C-Spire Wireless online Battle of the Bands against bands all over the Southeast for the chance to open for the Avett Brothers and Jake Owen in front of 30,000 people at the Bulldog Bash festival.

Splitting most of his time between the Jason Turner Band and his solo acoustic performances, it is his solo shows that stand out as much as the full bands. Using a looper and performing over the top guitar solos unheard of on an acoustic guitar, his solo shows rock with the intensity and good-time feeling of a full band. He is booked for most of the year, each year because of his popularity in the South.

2012 is already off to a tremendous start with Turner being chosen to represent C-Spire Wireless “Bright Lights” with a showcase performance at SXSW in Austin, Tx. Turner also recorded a live in studio acoustic performance on the upcoming PBS televison show, "The Oxford Sessions," to be released in the fall. This performance will also be released as an e.p. via iTunes in late summer. Turner is currently in the Studio recording his third studio album “Apology on Repeat” with producer Steve Blaze of the Louisiana Hall of Fame recording artists Lillian Axe. Turner, using the fundraising site Pledge Music, was able to make this album possible by the supportive contributions of Turner’s intensely massive and devoted online following.
