Critics love the old boys. Where are they now? Delicately, ladies arrive, streamed with trails of perfume and somewhat sensitive to change. Bach with pedal...it can be done. I walk into bliss, eyes are feeling jaded while the fingers gently slam keys. Broken to play. Corridors fill with souls desparately seeking for a new
interpretation.

Quirky, classical and abolsutely captivating, Australian composer and pianist, Emili Rackemann, carries her ancestors expertise, naming Frederick W. Rackemann and brother Louis of Bremen, Germany, who were highly renowned for their exquisite performances of Beethoven's work while touring with Clara Schumann in the late eighteenth century.

Rackemann's rural upbringing may be contradictory to what defines a classical composer, however creatively her mind keeps searching to break the predictability of piano performance, bringing classical into the present, rehashed, reformed. Born and raised in remote Central Australia, Rackemann's mind is simply the sound of story-telling versus visualizations, truth versus imagination.
To balance daily expectations of remote Australian living, Emili moved from her rural foundation to study at the Conservatorium of Music in Queensland, however felt her nature was not intended for further study. 'My study is my composition' Rackemann says.

With over fifty compositions for solo and duo piano, Rackemann's collection of compositions are sealed and packaged with a selection of specific sounds for each album. Having released two albums and soon to release her third album titled 'Vintage Women', Rackemann is certainly breaking the paradigm of what defines a piano composer. 'It would be ignorant not to explore the endless possibilities of this amazing instrument' Rackemann says. 'It is not fair to say I am purely a classical pianist. However, to build a solid foundation as an artist, one has to not confuse their audience.'

Currently performing her classical compositions titled Vintage Women Series, Emili ensures 2013 will be introduced with a stunning new twist as her touring continues. Surrounded by quirky props, old jars and floral arrangements, Rackemann is an exceptional blend of classical versus quirky.

'Performing has to be an enlightening experience, for both audience and performer. I feel it is time to make it colourful and vibrant, filled with costumes and props. For me, it is not a three page biography. Music will flow through those who choose for it to be part of their journey.'

In 2013, Rackemann will be performing a series of intimate recitals in New York, followed by plans for Berlin, Germany later in the year.
