Blue Gender (ブルージェンダー, Burū Jendā) is a 26-episode anime created by Takahashi Ryousuke (of Armored Trooper Votoms and Gasaraki fame) broadcast in Japan from 1999-2000.

It is the story of Yuji Kaido, an average guy who was diagnosed with a serious disease in the near future and was put into cryogenic stasis. When he wakes up, he discovers that a race of insectoid beings called "Blue" have overrun the Earth and that he may very well be the key to the survival of the human race.

Haishima Kuniaki is the composer of the score. However, the title song, Toki Hanate! (Set Me Free!) is arranged by Hideo Saito and the end song by Makihiko Araki. Lyrics for both songs were written by Oikawa Neko. Both songs are sung by the lead female voice actor, Houko Kuwashima. Read more on Last.fm.
