Matt Draugos is an 18 year old rapper/MC from Apex, North Carolina, USA. He started making music at the age of 14 in 2018, and has been honing his craft ever since. His first EP, Iron Sky (now vaulted) was released in October 2020. The first installment of the Moonrock Rose series followed up shortly after, then ScanD I, fully produced bySt. Louis, Missouri MC/producer Jackie Scan, as well as ScanD II, were released within a couple months of each other in January-February 2021. Following up the first two projects in the ScanD series was Moonrock Rose 2, a mixtape where he rapped over MF DOOM instrumentals that is available on SoundCloud. His next project was ScanDeluxe, a short compilation of throwaways and cut material from ScanD I and II produced by Jackie Scan. His next EP, Planet Draugos, fully produced by Wyoming hyperpop/cloud rap artist numbmoi, was released on June 25, 2021. On October 1st, 2021, Matt Draugos released his one of his strongest bodies of work to date: THE GREAT WORK: AN INTRODUCTION TO ALCHEMY. Fully produced by Australian producer SPOOKS, the Alchemy tape features some of Draugos' s best rapping performances. Every verse features dynamic rapping with raw and varied flows and Matt's hungry delivery, as he executes slick alchemy references in his lyrics on SPOOKS's refreshing, forceful instrumentals for 12 minutes. In December 2021, Matt Draugos joined NOGODRECORDS, a collective of underground hip hop artists formed from a group of Twitter friends. On top of his affiliation with NOGODRECORDS, Matt formed his own group/collective with his friends called Play Pretend, along with Sebastian Rosa, al., and newt. Little is publicly known about Play Pretend at this time. On July 22, 2022, Matt Draugos released his most bold and captivating album, FOG3, with production from Jackie Scan. FOG3 has cutting-edge vocal mixing, raw yet minimal boom bap production, and introspective, overarching lyricism/songwriting that creates a cohesive concept related to his struggles and coping mechanisms used for depression. His influences range from a variety of renowned artists in the mainstream and underground alike, such as Eminem (in his early work), MF DOOM, Earl Sweatshirt, Mach-Hommy, Conway The Machine, Westside Gunn, Big Pun, billy woods, Kendrick Lamar and Vinnie Paz.
