There are at least two bands that share this name:

(1) Alternative band from Bergen, Norway.
“Debut out the 18th of Octobre with help from The Dandy Warhols and Sonic Boom!”

Lovecult has long been a buzzword in the Norwegian scene. The band is known for making psychedelic and dreamy melodies driven by seducing and hypnotic beats, captivating their listeners with dreamy and sophisticated yet simple songs.

After Lovecult supported and seduced The Dandy Warhols on the Norwegian leg of their 2012 tour, the Dandys got so excited they all wanted to help with Lovecults debut. Both Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Peter Holmstrom and Zia Mccabe have mixed material for the release. “Working with the Dandys was like working with old friends who’d known us for years! They instantly grasped where we wanted to go, and made some bold descissions to take things even further” says Henning.

Pete “Sonic Boom” Kember from the legendary psychedelic outfit, Spacemen 3 has also helped mixing and completing the vision the band had in mind. The first single, Please Be Mine, out oct 4th on Diamond Club, is mixed by Kember who’s also worked with contemporary great acts such as Peaking Lights, MGMT and Panda Bear. “We really wanted to mangle this collection of songs into something bigger than we could achieve on our own, and these people tuned things to perfection.” Says Eirik. The recordings were done in Oslo with producer Ådne Meisfjord of 120 Days and Serena fame. Emil Nikolaisen of Serena Maneesh engineered the sessions.

(2) In the begining of the summer of 2007 three rebel rockers, decided true rock n roll needed to return. and they started LoveCult.

Paris Vanity started his career in music as an angry teenager without a haircut, intoxicated by the splendour of rock 'n' roll music. He handled his guitar like a machine gun, in a sweet revolution of love and sex. He did the usual round of teenage garage bands before concluding none of them worked. Rock 'n' roll was dead, dead in the minds of music industry's big shots. The world needs a revolution, the great return of rock 'n' roll music. Paris found his drummer in his roommate, Nicky Valentine, who allready was a style conscious proto rock 'n' roll star. He needed only to wipe the dust of his drumkit. Chris wanted to join the band too. He had such a strange taste for clothes, which made him the perfect bass player for the band except one small thing, he didn't play bass. Next day he bought a bass, and the band was ready rock. LoveCult is now preparing to launch their first small tour, so you might see them on stage in the near future. Read more on Last.fm.
