National touring artist Tom Feldmann performs an uplifting mixture of gospel, blues and sloe-eyed country ballads on an array of beautiful National Reso-Phonic guitars. Dirty Linen describes him as "a master of folk-blues-roots Americana music." Richie Havens declares, "very talented." And Blues Revue Magazine labels him "the real deal" and "a soulful original."

Feldmann picked up the guitar at age 17 after hearing the pioneers of acoustic blues and states, “John Lee Hooker taught me how to strum, and Muddy Waters taught me how to slide.” His first CD was released in 1999 and Tom has since spent the years recording and touring, most notably as the one-man band Stickey Nickel (2003-04) and as the front-man for Tom Feldmann & The Get-Rites (2005-present).

Since their inception in 2005, Tom Feldmann & The Get-Rites have released four internationally acclaimed CD's of Feldmann originals on Tom's own Magnolia Recording Company label formed in 2005 to be a “home between the cracks”, a place where unsupported artists can support one another.

Their latest effort, Tribute finds Feldmann going back to his roots, paying homage to a few key artists that have shaped him musically. Artists such as; Muddy Waters, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Fred McDowell, Charley Patton, Washington Phillips, Blind Willie Johnson, Robert Wilkins, Booker White, Dock Reed and Son House.

“After fourteen years of original compositions,” says Tom Feldmann, “I felt it was time to pay tribute to my roots.”

Feldmann is currently touring solo in promotion of Tribute, carrying on the tradition of solo acoustic blues by standing poised as a positive voice with songs of hope in a time when negativity bombards us continually. In the words of the great Lightnin’ Hopkins, “Now is the needed time.”

"It is my intention," continues Feldmann, "to help preserve this musical heritage for future generations." Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
