A graduate of the University of Southern California, Ms King has concertized with the San Francisco Ballet, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and The American Jazz Orchestra to name a few. Valarie’s amazing musical versatility and comfortability with nearly every musical style can be heard on recordings by such legendary artists as Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, Seal, Josh Groban, The Backstreet Boys, Brian McKnight, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Babyface, Natalie Cole, Diana Krall, Nina Simone, Shirley Horn, Tony Bennett, George Benson, Terence Blanchard, David Benoit, Johnny Mathis, Dr. Dre, Outlawz, Sheena Easton, and Michael Bolton.
Valarie has shared the world famous Hollywood Bowl stage with her mentor, jazz flautist Hubert Laws and classical great Jean Pierre Rampal. She has played to sold out audiences with such history making artists as Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Luther Vandross, Robert Goulet, Michael Crawford, and Ray Charles.
Her incomparable tone is often requested by award winning television and film composers and producers. Among them, John Williams, James Horner, Jerry Goldsmith, David Foster, Alan Broadbent, Claus Ogerman, Jeremy Lubbock, Rob Mounsey, Patrice Rushen, Stanley Clarke, Marvin Hamlish, Herbie Hancock and list goes on and on.
