The origin of Numento dates back to winter 2010. Mikko S, Aleksi and Tony had previously played together for a number of years under different names and line-ups, but their band activity had ceased to a halt due to guys' military services. After everyone was available again, they regrouped with Mikko J. filling in as a drummer for an upcoming gig.

After the gig, Mikko J. joined the band as a full-time member, and recordings for the Resignation EP begun. The singer at the time, however, decided to step aside from the band. During spring 2011 several vocal auditions were held. The search was finished in early summer, with Katri joining the band.
