BIOGRAPHY:
Veteran emcees out of Melbourne's infamous IFA crew, Weapon X & Ken Hell have embarked on a high energy collaboration which fuses some of the illest in-your-face production with freakshow rhyme abilities and lyricism.
Finding a balance between traditional Hiphop sounds and today’s urban pop music, this twosome is set to turn the industry on its head. Combining two of Australia's most dynamic performers, their live show is nothing short of confrontational. Forget your stereotypical hiphop performance where all movement is restricted to headnods and arm waving. These gifted emcees interact like true professionals, due mostly to sharing a stage for the past 7 years.
Weapon X is a born lyricist and world class beatsmith.
Ken Hell is the consummate performer - be it emceeing, b-boyin' or impromptu stand-up.
Together, the resulting live show is unparalleled in its intensity. The duo's ability to bounce off each other is uncanny - and at times eerie.
The forthcoming LP is built around Weapon X's trademark banging beats, and will feature guests from the world over including Ethic (US), Promoe (Looptroop/Sweden), Savage (Deceptikonz/NZ) and Raptile (BMG/Germany). The duo have also been in the studio with star producer P-Money (Scribe) while touring in Auckland earlier this year.

Embroiled in controversy since day one, Weapon X has been at the centre of all things battle related since his emergence in 1997. Having saturated the battle circuit throughout the late 90's, Weapon X sought to hone his beatmaking skills and has seen success both domestically & internationally as a producer. Never one to abandon the mic, Weapon has maintained his razor sharp skills and further refined his stage presence as co-vocalist for the live hiphop band Fizard, who took out the prestigious Unearthed contest run by Triple J. The last Fizard single, ‘Unwind’ was been added to both Triple J and Nova 100 rotation.
In addition to the upcoming project with Ken Hell, X has collaborated with artists such as Raptile (Germany/BMG), Too Phat (Malaysia/EMI) Promoe & Freestyle (Ex-Arsonists) and Deceptikonz as well as both vocal and production contributions to Joosuc's 'Welcome to the Infected Area' LP (Korea/MP-Universal). In January 2004, Weapon X released a production LP entitled ‘The Nodfather’. A salute to the veterans and newcomers of Australian Hiphop’s underground, pairing some of the nation’s best lyricists with world class production. The unique compilation has been met with widespread critical acclaim, often regarded as the finest local Hiphop compilation to date, and spawning the Triple J radio-hit ‘Bim Bam Boogie’ with Sydney’s Bliss N Eso.

The enigmatic Ken Hell has grown up with a mic in hand. From freestylin' on stage with Naughty by Nature at the age of 15, to rockin' Auckland and Wellington last year while relatively unknown - Hell puts more energy into one song than most emcees put into an entire set. With an infectious 'is he serious?' approach to lyricism, Ken Hell continues to push buttons and poke fun, putting entertainment back into hiphop when it needs it most. Riotous both on and off stage, Hell provides the perfect contrast to the formidable flows of Weapon X. Read more on Last.fm.
