Liam Ryan made his name as keyboardist and songwriter with The Narcs in the 1980s ((You Took Me) Heart and Soul, Diamonds On China) and since then has returned to his musical roots playing keyboards and Hammond organ as a session player touring recently with local and international artists including Charlie Musselwhite, Long John Baldry and Robben Ford.

He also has a killer band, The Torch Songs Band, based in Tauranga with regular appearances at national New Zealand Arts and Jazz festivals.

Liam Ryan (keyboards and producer) collaborates with Midge Marsden (blues harp), Steve Garden (drums), Grant Mason (trumpet), Cam Allen (Sax), Trevor Braunias, Peri Kohu, Joel Shadbolt, Derek Jacombs and Regan Perry (guitars), Carol Storey (vocalist), Nick Ririnui (percussion) and DJ Hone Ngata (DJ Poroufessor) as well as other musicians.

His latest effort is The Mississippi To Mauao project, a series of collaborative music recordings composed and produced by Liam Ryan featuring some of New Zealand's finest jazz players and well known blues musicians working alongside designer Mike Dunn, and photographer Melissa Gibbard.
