Big Mimma is a group born in Messina in July 2010 by the will of Alexander Silipigni , Moses Previti and Vincio Syracuse. Their music mixes elements of rock, reggae , ska and swing in a way which makes the texts in dialect , a true independent language poetically understood , the guideline of " cunti " - songs, including made-up stories , legends and " split " Sicilian everyday life . In March 2011 , the interest in the fusion of culture and music brings the violinist Marcello Ulfo , back from a long business live in the Netherlands , to join the band . In the following summer the workforce expands further with the entry of Piero Cucinotta , percussionist and scholar of African musical traditions
