José Roberto Aguilar (São Paulo, April 11, 1941) is a Brazilian painter, sculptor, performer and multimedia artist, considered the pioneer in the use of video as artistic language in this country. His output encompasses the urban life, sexuality and the plurality of codes and signs, among other things, using a vibrant and expressive approach.
In 1981, he founded the musical group Banda Performática (with Arnaldo Antunes, Paulo Miklos, Tuba, Lanny Gordin, Go, Noris e Lenira), that performed gigs and spectacles and recorded a self-titled album in 1982 and "Blue Brother" in 1992.
