Infected Thoughts is a DSBM/Depressive Black Metal project founded in the city of Novosibirsk, Russia. The sole member of the project is "Infektita," who is responsible for the instrumental, vocals, and lyrics. According to him, the name "Infected Thoughts" was chosen because every person experiences "parasitic" thoughts that torment them, like an "infection" eating them from the inside. The themes of the songs touch not only on others but also on the performer himself, reflecting his feelings toward people and himself: disappointment, loss, sorrow, and hatred. These themes are reinforced not only by the lyrics but also by the vocals. The vocalist employs several vocal techniques, including a heart-wrenching scream that gives the songs an even darker and more ominous tone, as well as shriek, scream, and inhale.

The early work represents a prolonged, monotonous, yet simultaneously dark DSBM. Currently, the genre has shifted towards a more experimental Depressive Black Metal, incorporating samples, elements from other genres, downtuned guitars, and a more aggressive sound.

As the musician states: "At the moment, the genre I play can be considered experimental, as many who create music in styles such as DSBM and Depressive Black Metal are moving towards melodicism and something lighter. In contrast, I make the instrumental aspect of my songs even more aggressive and ferocious, but I do not miss the opportunity to create in a lighter mood. It all depends on what I want to convey."
