Born in 1978 in Frankfurt Mark Medlock grew up in Offenbach as son of US Larry Melock and his German wife Monika.

Since he was six, he was singing in Gospel choirs - supported by his father. When his mother got cancer he left school to support her at home until she died in 2000, two years before his father died due to heart attack.

He was married for three years with a man, jobbing arround doing anything he could.

In 2006 he joined "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (DSDS) - the German version of Pop Idol - and won.

His first single "Now or never" reched number one in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His second single - together with the composer Dieter Bohlen - "You can get it" was four weeks number in Germany, but just number three in Austria and Switzerland.

His latest release "Unbelievable" made number 4 in Germany, number 19 in Austria and just 27 in Switzerland.
