Initial'L was a Japanese rock band formed in Tokyo in November 2016 by the former members of the visual kei band Lycaon. The lineup included vocalist Yuuki (悠希), guitarists Satoshi (サトシ) and ZERO (零), bassist Hiyuu (緋遊), and drummer Ichirou (一朗). After Lycaon disbanded, the members reunited to form Initial'L, starting out continuing in the visual kei scene but later leaving the scene for their new concept called "future rock." The band's name is thought to reference the manga Initial'D and the initial letter of Lycaon. The band remained active until 2022, when they disbanded.

Their debut mini-album, MOON LIGHT DOWN, was released on November 30, 2016, featuring seven songs spread across three editions, each with exclusive B-side tracks. The band's name is thought to reference the manga Initial'D and the initial letter of Lycaon.

In March 2017, Initial'L released their second single, VISION, with the title track serving as the ending theme for the drama Star☆Concerto~Ore to Kimi no Idol Dou~. Later that year, in August, they released another mini-album, FIREFLY, continuing their steady output of music.

In 2018, the band embarked on a three-month release campaign, beginning with the single KINGS AND QUEENS in March, followed by WAKE UP in April, and CALLING in May. The singles showcased a blend of rock and EDM influences, with the band aiming to create high-energy tracks that would resonate during live performances. Their efforts culminated in the release of their first full album, INITIALIZE, on September 26, 2018, which included a mix of new songs and tracks from their previous releases.

In 2020, Initial'L made their U.S. debut at Katsucon, a multicultural convention held in National Harbor, MD. The event included a concert, Q&A panel, and autograph sessions, offering fans a chance to interact with the band.

That same year, bassist Hiyuu announced his departure from the band. His final performance was initially scheduled for April 27, 2020, at a special concert titled Loudly: Thank You Hi-kun, but the event was eventually canceled due to scheduling conflicts. Hiyuu cited personal doubts and the desire to take a break from music as reasons for leaving, while expressing support for the remaining members.

The band remained together without a bassist through the COVID-19 pandemic, but by 2022, they announced plans to disband. Their final performance took place at Shibuya STAR LOUNGE on May 29, 2022. Guitarist ZERO reflected that the decision to disband came after a period of declining motivation among the members, with all considering leaving the band but struggling to articulate their feelings until they ultimately agreed to part ways.
