Jerboah is a group of musical explorers, committed to share the powerfulness and boundlessness of complex and quirky music.
The core of six musicians - Brechtje (composer, vocals), Jornt Duyx (composer, multi-instrumentalist), Sarah Jeffery (recorders, vocals), Josephine Bode (recorders, vocals), Dodó Kis (EWI, recorders, vocals) and Marcos Baggiani (drums, percussion) - is being enhanced by dancer Kenzo Kusuda, visual artist Mees van Amesfoort and producer Pauline van Otten. Together they form a passionate Amsterdam-based group with a great wealth in skills and unique ideas.
Musically, diverse backgrounds are brought together from the worlds of contemporary, classical, non-Western, renaissance, jazz, improvised, theatrical and pop music. Coupled with their unusual instrumentation, a musical style is created that can only be described in the combination of terms. A mix of art-rock, post-pop and worldbeat hits closest to the mark.
Next to drawing from the well of creative possibilities within the group, Jerboah is continuously searching for ways to cooperate will all sorts of artists and institutes - believing in the power of building experiences together. ‘Breaking boundaries’ is not the goal, but the natural consequence of Jerboah’s curiosity and wild abandon.
