Ricky Lewis is an American singer-songwriter based in New York City.

Lewis cut his teeth in several bands (Dear Lions, The Wools) until spending the last year stockpiling songs in private and honing his craft as a writer. After sending GarageBand demos to various musical friends, he enlisted fellow songwriter Patrick Bower to record him performing his songs live, the way they were written, sung over stark and expressive guitar playing. Throughout Spring 2013 the pair recorded at Bower's homemade setup in the basement of his apartment. There they added subtle, intricate layers to the live performances they captured.

The four songs selected from these sessions comprise Lewis' first solo effort, Serious Mistress EP. At times it recalls the dark pop sensibilities of Space Oddity-era David Bowie, at others the stoner-Americana of Neil Young. Read more on Last.fm.
