Andale' (pronounced on-da-lay), a.k.a. Trey Williams, is a lyricist of real life experiences. He has mastered the art of introducing both the young and old to Jesus Christ using his powerful gift of music. It wasn't always this way. Growing up in the inner city of north Nashville, Andale' was heavily influenced by his negative environment. Run-ins with the law as well as expulsion from school were a common occurrence in his early days; however, it was these experiences which helped Andale turn to writing music. Although secular at first, Andale was obviously gifted. As a young mc, he won many local rap battles and talent contests. One day, however, while in a recording session he heard the voice of the Holy Spirit call him to do music for the Kingdom of God. Moved by this inward revelation, he said goodbye to the “prison culture”, materialistic views of secular music and became a youth minister and speaker. Since then he has never looked back. He has never changed his music to conform for anyone, and God has continued to open door after door. Andale has had the privilege of recording with Grammy nominated producers Incorporated Elements (Grits and Talib Kweli, Nappy Roots) and Kelvin Wooten (Anthony Hamilton, Mary J. Blige, Outkast, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin). He has also opened for gospel recording artists such Kirk Franklin, Virtue, J-Moss, Lisa McClendon, Kurt Carr, Canton Jones. He has performed at such events as the WEUP June Black Arts Festival in Huntsville, AL, the Heritage Festival in Birmingham, AL and has appeared on the hit TV show Hype and Glory with world renowned gospel rapper T-Bone ("Fighting Temptations"). His live show is incredible and convicting. His energy and sense of humor leaves the listener wanting more. Few have ever heard so much passion, anointing and versatility in one man's delivery. His gift is truly from God. What separates him from everyone else like him: As Trey's agent, I can tell you I was skeptical when he first told me what he did. Today Christian artists tend to be too "preachy" and not really that talented, especially in rap. I promise you this is different. Some of Trey's main influences and styles come directly from artists such as Bone Thugs N' Harmony, Jay-Z, The Roots, Tribe Called Quest, T.I., and Nappy Roots just to make a few. And he doesn't throw the name Jesus in your face 500x per song, he talks about real life issues like marriage, relationships, war, poverty, and politics, and manages to throw down some sick beats and hooks at the same time. So give him a chance. This is what hip-hop was meant to be. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
