In 1998, a group of about 25 girls at Ithaca decided to get together on a weekly basis and perform a cappella music. After only one semester, the group slimmed to 16 select women and became audition-only. Today, Premium Blend is recognized as a vital student organization at Ithaca College, performing multiple concerts each semester on campus. Nearly all of the songs sung by Premium Blend are arranged by members. In additon to performing at on-campus events, Premium Blend sings downtown on the Ithaca Commons, at local nursing homes, and travels throughout the East coast giving concerts and workshops. Premium Blend has been fortunate to collaborate in concerts with such groups as: Ithacappella, IC VoiceStream, Sons of Pitches, the Cornell Hangovers, the University of Rochester Yellowjackets, the Cornell Cordials, the Ellison Collection from Mansfield University, the Fordham Satin Dolls, and the Amalgamates from Tufts University. Premium Blend is very excited to be competing in this year's International Championship of Collegiate Acappella, with quarterfinals on February 25th. The group has released two CDs: "Premium Premiere" in 2002 and "girl." in 2005. Above all, Premium Blend is dedicated to having fun with music and inspiring others to do the same!
