Chevy Pendergrass, known to most people as Smoke, and one half of the music group Field Mob, has a history in music dating back to when he grew up on the outskirts of Albany, GA. That is where he met Shawn Jay and formed the group that we have all come to know and love. The duo has released three albums nationally. Chevy P signed his first deal in 1999 to Southern House Records, a small independent label and released the first single Project Dreamz. The group drew attention from MCA records and they quickly went on to sign with the major. In October 2002, the album From The Roota to the Toota featuring the hit single Sick Of Being Lonely produced by Jazze Pha, was released and sold well, becoming certified gold . Soon after releasing Disturbing Tha Peace, the group signed with DTP and Geffen records. The first single was Georgia which quickly rose to #39 in the U.S. Billboard 200. Their next full album Light Pole and Pine Trees was released in the summer of 2006 and recieved high acclaim in part due to the success of the first single So What featuring Ciara also produced by Jazze Pha.
