Fernando Motta is a Brazilian composer who revives various styles of 90s indie, moving between shoegaze, dream pop, jangle and slowcore as he absorbs elements from local music. Born in Coromandel and based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, he’s making an impact in the local indie scene for almost a decade, building a characteristic sound that is marked by his introspective lyricism and soothing instrumentation.

In 2016, he released his first solo album, "Andando Sem Olhar pra Frente". Recorded without the ideal resources, with a rawness characteristic of the artists who emerged at the same time in the Minas Gerais scene, the album helped to define the “Rock Triste” sound that emerged from the alternative 2010s scene. Since then, Motta has followed paths paved by sound experimentation, incorporating new solutions and elements with each release.

On his new album "Moimento Algum", Fernando Motta melts fhe sounds of his homeland Minas Gerais to shape ethereal and dreamlike soundscapes, being described by the local indie media as “Slow Borges”, an allusion to the fusion between Clube da Esquina’s Lô Borges and the slow sound of slowcore and shoegaze.
