The mysterious Tito Ramírez - hides his identity behind a mask - takes the stage accompanied by a combo of five musicians to offer a mix of R&B, Latin rock & roll, boogaloo, shake and soul. He brings back the rhythms of the mid-20th century, both from the Anglo-Saxon and Spanish-speaking world. As his name announces, the mambo is the main genre in this first record production. But he also rescues the cha-cha, soul, R&B or rock and roll of the time, creating a boogaloo destined for the dance floors. This amalgamation of genres, as he himself clarifies, is not something new. “There are compilations of the time that reflect the mix of R&B with mambo; the rhythms that Ray Charles started to make are based on Latin patterns ", and he reminds us that" Music is a round trip that goes from coast to coast. " There has always been a very particular exchange between the Caribbean and the United States. Since we are talking about mambo, Tito Ramírez does not hide his admiration for Pérez Prado, the Cuban musician who elevated this genre in the 50s of the last century. But the difference between his music and what has been done before is that the renewal of the genre has been set as its objective, not imitation. Behind the pseudonym and the mask is a musician who has been a guitarist for Los Granadians del Espacio exterior, a band from Granada in love with the music of Los Salvajes, Los Relámpagos or his fellow countrymen Los Ángeles. Now, in his new stage as a masked superhero, he surrounds himself with musicians who support him in all styles: Kid Martín (trumpet) and Ignacio Big Fluber (saxophones) on the winds. The direct from him is pure explosion, the fuse is lit and everyone is trapped in the boogaloo. In addition, the rhythm section of José María Rubio (drums) and Javier Geras (double bass) take you through that soul that you should never have abandoned. Mia Vergara provides the voice and Oscar Martos (keyboards) takes you to heaven while Tito Ramírez's guitar reminds you that all this is serious and that you can dance mambo in 2020.
